martinfan5 Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Taking a look at the new Suzuki Jimny (JA11-5 Type) from Hasegawa Models.
Jordan White Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Cool! How does it compare to the Fujimi kit?
Erik Smith Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Interesting interior tub - no door panel detail seems a step back to the 80s. Looks well done otherwise.
niteowl7710 Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Cool! How does it compare to the Fujimi kit?Technically there is no Fujimi kit. They made a Jimny yes, and a LHD Samari as well, but that's a completely different generation of Jimny.
Jordan White Posted December 29, 2016 Posted December 29, 2016 Actually according to Wikipedia, they are considered the same generation, they just have slightly different styling and different engines.
niteowl7710 Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) Actually according to Wikipedia, they are considered the same generation, they just have slightly different styling and different engines. You're right, I was thinking too far ahead. The next variant is going to be the JA12 which was it's own chassis designation from 1995-1998. The JA11 is sort of an oddball little truck considering it only existed for 9 months until the JA12 came into being. Edited December 30, 2016 by niteowl7710
RodneyBad Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 I picked up a few of these (3) to see how the compare to the Fujimi Jimny.. They are a hair smaller and the Plastic is thinner than the Fujimi and almost feels 1/25. Fujimi on the right. The chassis are nicely detailed and I like the separate springs and axles. Easy to do a SPOA lift.. I have built a Few Fujimis and looking forward to building the Aoshime version..
gray07 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 That pickup is cool, I love these little suvs, I have a 2000 kia sportage that I drive in the trails
37 caddy Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Back in the late 80's and early 90's i had 3 of them, they were nearly indestructible, and i did try.Had a 83 pickup,a 84 hardtop and a long wheelbase convertible with a factory hardtop on it,we called it the popemobile,i loved them they would go anywhere in 4x4..motors were good on fuel, did put the rod out through the side of my pickup one night, man that made a big kaboom.Might have to pickup one of these.
