Gt fan Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 I'm back to work on trying to finish up my challenge car. The chassis is just about done ,only a few things to add to the motor. The decals are a bit on the thick side and need a BUNCH of decal set to get them to wrap around the nose. Hope too have this done by the weekend and on too something else.
jaymcminn Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Beautiful work. Your decal work and detailing is really bringing the generally so-so Fujimi kit to life. Well done!
DrKerry Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 That looks sharp!!!!!! Can't wait to see more of it!!!!!!
Gt fan Posted January 6, 2017 Author Posted January 6, 2017 Thanks guys!!! I'll post some more over the weekend. Cheers
droogie Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Nice work. I'm building this same kit and I have a question. What are the tire lettering markings provided in the kit? Dry transfers or decals? They're on a separate sheet from the other decals and the instructions are kind of vague.
Gt fan Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 They are water release transfer, like some of the Tamiya kits. There is a small thin sheet attached to the cardboard stock . Cut out the logo , wet the tire with a Q-tip, lay down the transfer and wet the release paper with the Q-tip the logo will lift off on to the tire. I just lightly give it a touch of decal set after it starts to dry. I took out the threaded tires and replaced them with slicks. I hope this helps you out.
droogie Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Yes, and thanks. That is exactly what I wanted to know.
Taxdude Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Very nice. I built a similar one a few years ago. Nice kit goes together without any drama.
Gt fan Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 That looks great!! I did the red version of that car.
metalhead Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 I'm currently building one as well. Going to make mine a police tribute car. All black with a thin blue line going on top of the body off to the right side.
Gt fan Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 You should do the wheels black with a thin blue line . Like a redline .
