Ron Hamilton Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 In Ron's 2nd picture of the Sox and Martin '71 'cuda , ---- can someone tell me what the slot opening under both head lights are for ?I was planning on filling them .I think that they are not there for any apparent reason except to get the body out of the mold. I am going to fill those in myself when I restore this one.

On a real car its there just not as apparent as the model depicts
iBorg Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 The Revell chassis under either the MPC or Johan kit gives you a much better chassis. The problem is trying to adapt the interior. I tried it but never got the interior where I thought it was right.
Force Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 (edited) The grille on a real 71 Barracuda goes all the way out to the corners outside of the outer lights, so the slot openings under the outer lights are not supposed to be there but are on all Jo-Han bodys...so fill them in, I did on mine.I think they are there just to get the body out of the mold easier, Monogram solved it another way and had panel separations were there are none on a real car, Monogram put them on the front fender in front of the wheels from the bumper all the way to the wheel well about where I have the separation between the red and the white under the Valvoline decal...so that's not right either. gtx6970 Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Edit, I am thinking of the split where the grille meets the fender is actually hidden ( sort of ) by the bumper. The area in the grill is smooth So yep, fill it in
afx Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 With a little sanding , the Revell '70 'cuda is a great donor to use with the Johan '71 'cuda kit I'm thinking along the lines of a Barracuda Gran Coupe for this . Have you tried fitting the Revell interior?
