PatW Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 An interesting subject as it doesn't show any 'Woodie' on the box art or in the plans or in the box! So I thought I'd add it! The front wheels were heavily fluted, which weren't very nice at all. Looking through the chrome parts there are a number of extra bits from a standard kit, so I cut the fluted area of the wheels out, replaced that with a piece of plasticard with a hole in the centre to give the correct offset on the axle ends. Using the separate chromed rear halves of the rims, opening out the hole and adding spare domed hubcaps for the smooth look. The paint is Plasti-Kote Metallic Blue.
cobraman Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 You did a nice job on that kit. The way they did the headlights always puzzled me.
PatW Posted March 3, 2017 Author Posted March 3, 2017 Thanks guys.Yes Ray I would have thought that they would have set them into the front wings/fenders, but I know nothing of American car design history. Where they setting headlights into the front bodywork at that time?
crazyjim Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Sunny and 76 here today and through about Wednesday when we might get a sprinkle. Should a terrific weekend for a Saturday FAST meeting and Sunday is the Manatee car & truck show where FAST will have display and I entered the Mustang in the 1:1 show. Last year we took best Mustang. I'm hoping for a repeat.
PatW Posted March 3, 2017 Author Posted March 3, 2017 Thanks for that weather report Jim. It's 6C here, that's about 42 F, very wet looks to be in for the weekend. I'm telling you this at 10.12pm Saturday, It's pouring with rain outside and looks to be like that until Monday! Enjoy the weekend show.
62rebel Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 As a matter of fact, the factory stopped putting the headlights on the fenders with the 1937 models. This design is a complete fiction.
PatW Posted March 4, 2017 Author Posted March 4, 2017 Thanks guys, nice reaction and thanks Curt for that info.
