Joe Handley Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Has anybody ever built a model that is supposed to represent a vehicle that has been converted over to be an electric vehicle? Been thinking about that while on my lunch break today and thought it might make for an interesting build subject.
astroracer Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Check out this site. All kinds of info here.http://www.nedra.com/This one has a few pics. http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1098780_ford-mustang-electric-drag-car-does-0-to-60-mph-under-2-seconds-targets-200-mphMark
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 I started a twin-turbine / electric hybrid sometime back, propulsion system loosely based on the Jag C-X75. A similar system could be fitted to just about anything.
Joe Handley Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 Thanks guys! I might try something a bit more mild mannered though. I've got a 90's issue '61 Ranchero and the "427" seems like too much for it, especially for my build plans. Now the set up that EV West put in their '02 Ranger shop truck......but with the better batteries that 5 years of evolution can bring!
Joe Handley Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 Here's a walk through of the EV West Shop Ranger, this is probably more along the lines of what I would replicate.
Spex84 Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I've never built one but about 2 weeks ago I discovered that the AMT studebaker optional chopped roof and blue-tinted glass fit on the old Monogram '41 Lincoln body....so I was thinking of doing a retro-hi-tech Lincoln with a bank of batteries under the hood.Funny you should bring up the idea, and here's another weird coincidence: just yesterday I was reading a thread on the HAMB about Steve's Auto Restorations; they're building a custom-bodied '41 Lincoln limousine that will be electric-powered!I say...go for it!
