Joe Handley Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Has anybody tried this too? Kinda along the lines of what Model Masters has done, but using colors that MM doesn't offer or have stopped making?
Joe Handley Posted March 12, 2017 Author Posted March 12, 2017 Tried what?Making paints that will have a texture to them when dry, like the ModelMaster line, but in more colors.
Lunajammer Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Could you just use an existing, neutral colored textured paint, then put your preferred color over it?
BigTallDad Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Making paints that will have a texture to them when dry, like the ModelMaster line, but in more colors. What kind of texture? As in floor mats, or non-skid stairs, or vinyl roofs (or is it rooves), carpeting? Be more specific, please. For starters, I'd suggest using the Model Masters white as a base, then overcoating with your color (or is it colour) of choice using acrylic.
Joe Handley Posted March 15, 2017 Author Posted March 15, 2017 Sorry, I typed the responses and op in a hurry, I was mainly interested in cloth seat and maybe carpet or headliner like textures, I used Model Master's fabric black spray on one model, but that has since been disco'd and it seems like grey is all that is still available at the moment.

I see they offer a textured spray paint style in several colors (black is one of them). The paint is in the SuperMaxx paint/primer line.I too thought fabric texture paint was a great thing for modelers. However you and I seem to be in the minority of opinion on that.
