tim boyd Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Just to reconfirm, a number of authoritative books on the Three Hundred Series all confirm that Copper Brown Metallic was one of the five factory color choices for '57 Chrysler 300C's. MCW's paint matches the color chip manual perfectly. It's the color I painted my own partially completed 300 C kit. Really sharp job building that kit, Geoff. Congrats....TIM
GeeBee Posted April 9, 2017 Author Posted April 9, 2017 Thanks everyone for the kind words, i really enjoyed building this one, i bought the model after attending an American car show a few years ago, there was a 300D on show that the owner had completely restored, this car was huge, i just knew I had to make a model of it, the only thing i didn't like was it was painted in black, i took plenty of photos of it, which did come in useful for this build, anyone thinking of building this model, just do it, it goes together beautifully....
tedd60 Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 I love those stock builds, and this one is very good. What it like under the hood?

GeeBee Posted April 10, 2017 Author Posted April 10, 2017 Thankfully I managed to crank up my proper PC, which I use for my photographic work, and load the photo's into Lightroom, and managed to get the photo's looking a lot better and more realistic to the actual colour
Classicgas Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 I'm not sure why you think it's not a factory colour, it's Chrysler copper brown, one of the colours that the 57 300C was available in, the lighting might make it look darker than a vehicle in daylight, but I can guarantee you it's the same colour as this one It looked alot darker on the screen I was viewing it on.
GeeBee Posted April 15, 2017 Author Posted April 15, 2017 It looked alot darker on the screen I was viewing it on.it's one of those colours that change in different lighting conditions, in the sunlight it takes on a much lighter shade than either under studio lights or just indoors
Classicgas Posted April 15, 2017 Posted April 15, 2017 I see that now. Sorry aout the mixup. It looked to me more like the rootbeer metallic brown on 70 Camaros.
microwheel Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Love the final pics of it Geoff. You always do such clean builds. I can tell you spend a lot of time working on your paint work.
Hmann68 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Fantastic work!!! The color is a great change of pace from black or red!
