FabbricaP Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) Hi everyone. I just started these two. I'm trying to replicate two movie cars from one of my favorite movies, "Bad Boys". I'm going to use Historic Racing Miniatures' Halibrand wheels and GT350 small block engine to add some detail to the Cobra and 18" Speedline Cup wheels from Scale Production for the 911 Turbo. Can't wait to see these finished side by side! Edited July 5, 2017 by FabbricaP updated build progress
afx Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) A Porsche and a Cobra - you have my attention. Edited April 9, 2017 by afx
Scalper Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Cool subject. Interested in how the Porsche comes together.
FabbricaP Posted April 30, 2017 Author Posted April 30, 2017 (edited) Progress has been slow but finally managed to get all the paint coats down. The 911 is Tamiya Black (TS-14) and the Cobra is Tamiya Dark Blue (TS-55) Edited July 3, 2017 by FabbricaP
o-man Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Nice view! Cool car choices, will be looking in often
NY Modeler Posted April 30, 2017 Posted April 30, 2017 Two of my favorites, so I'm following along.Funny - there aren't many cars that make a 911 look big, whether 1/1 or 1/25.
FabbricaP Posted May 30, 2017 Author Posted May 30, 2017 (edited) Hi everyone. Here's my progress so far.. I finally got all the paint and clear coats on the bodies done and also got started on the interior, chassis and engine for the Cobra. I hope this project starts moving faster now that I've got all the parts painted. Thanks for looking! The kit decals for the Cobra weren't usable so I had to paint the racing stripes. Kennyboy Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 Love the movie....love what you are doing here. One thing, the movie car Cobra had Centerline type wheels on it, you can see it in the screenshot above.Only brought that up because of your attention to the other details.

I really wanted to build the Cobra to the movie car specs but I couldn't find those specific after market wheels
Kennyboy Posted May 31, 2017 Posted May 31, 2017 thanks for the comments. I really wanted to build the Cobra to the movie car specs but I couldn't find those specific after market wheels The Centerline wheels you are looking for were real common in the 1980's kits. 70's Z28, Trans Am, etc.You could throw it out there in "Wanted" section.....somebody here probably has a set or two.

I wish I could have known this sooner, but I'll definitely try to get hold of a set of the Centerline wheels for my next Cobra as I've found this is really a beautiful car that deserves more than one build.
