Dave Van Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 We call it Spring showers here........I get KTLA news at home....they THINK it might rain.......In WV if we cancelled like that we'd never have a car show!!!
Xingu Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 (edited) If severe weather is truly expected, it is better to be safe than to be sorry. Has anyone received "official" word that it is canceled?I have seen many photos of 1:1 car shows that show the field (and a lot of nice cars) under two feet of water because of Spring showers. Some areas are more prone to flooding than others, like some of those valleys in WV. Edited May 5, 2017 by Xingu Fixed negative congunction I learned in public school

I'll turn on KTLA news Sunday morning and see what weather they have.......but having lived in So Cal for many years any 'weather' is severe weather.....or what we call Thursday. BTW national weather service is calling for 30% chance of showers late Sunday......yes I know they often miss........ Edited May 5, 2017 by Dave Van
Muncie Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 huh? NNL West is scheduled for 2/3/2018 in Santa Clara, California...
Art Laski Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 (edited) It was the So Cal NNL in Chatsworth that was cancelled, scheduled to be this weekend. Edited May 5, 2017 by Art Laski
Dave Van Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 It was the So Cal NNL in Chatsworth that was cancelled, scheduled to be this weekend.Correct...... Chatsworth......it's a 1/1 show with a model show. I have photos in my 2011 album link below. It was a good show.
Xingu Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Just read in the show section that it is indeed canceled. The 1:1 car show was canceled so the facility shut down everything.Dave - I have driven thru parts of WV in the past and remember seeing the waterlines above the 2nd story and not seeing a river or creek anywhere in sight. That is scary stuff.
Art Anderson Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 In LA: "Don't spit on the sidewalk! Have you never heard of the Johnstown Flood"? Art
RancheroSteve Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Sounds like some guys don't want to get their fancy 1:1 cars wet. It's drizzling now!
Dave Van Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 In LA: "Don't spit on the sidewalk! Have you never heard of the Johnstown Flood"? Art I lived in LA for 10 years.......Stay in So Cal for a month each year. And I have survived a few '100 year' floods....so I feel I can poke some fun. But 15% chance of showers is NOT severe weather. We had hard rain / sleet and snow last night....we still survived drive narrow winding roads for an hour in it....and LIVED!!!
