kymdlr Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 I received this kit already built in pretty bad shape . The paint was in several layers and super thick. Glue was everywhere. All of the glass was either missing or beyond repair so thanks to "Randy D" for saving me with new glass! I stripped all of the paint and started it over, here are the results.
Dragline Posted May 22, 2017 Posted May 22, 2017 Super Save! Looked like it was dipped in a Care Bear for pete's sake!
58 Impala Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Nice job saving that model. I have a lot of patience building models but stripping that much paint would have tried it.
mikemopar70 Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Very nice save, i like the paint the result is awesome!
espo Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Turned out beautifully. It would seem that the original builder couldn't makeup his mind as to what color he wanted. I don't think I've ever seen that thick of paint, O wait there is a restored '60 Ranchero here on the forum that may be close.
bbowser Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 Wow, that must have been coated with a 4" house brush! Great restoration.
darthsideous Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Thanks for posting your before pics. Very nice save!?
