Agreed. Some very interesting 1/32 military aircraft I wouldn't have even thought to look for, and decent prices on many of them.

Exactly, if you figure how much some of the ebay stuff goes for, this is not bad. Plus, for some kits that are out of production or first issues, the prices are only slightly more than a new kit.

Along with the kits for sale, that site has an incredible collection of model kit history, biographies of box-art illustrators and kit company employees, etc. etc.  I recently posted a link to the Pyro history page, which has full-color box art for almost every Pyro kit ever made.

The section is not that easy to find, but: (1) on the Home Page, top-center, click on the link "Plastic Model Kit Articles and Howtos." (2) On the right side of the Articles page, click on "Plastic Model Kit History."

Or just be lazy and click this link...

Maybe it's just me.  I'm not used to paying more than $10.00 for a kit.

$10 kits disappeared years ago. UNLESS your buying second hand, even then its near impossible to get a mint unbuilt anything for that.

Not here in FLA.  Kits for $10 are available at FAST meetings, contests and swap meets all the time.  There's 1 vendor sells for even less if you buy 3 or more.

No doubt, but what if they don't have what you are looking for or there is none of this in your area? One must remember that not everyone is as lucky as some of us when it comes to Model Car events and or venues.

Buying something vintage online to get exactly what you need for a bit more than a brand new model is not that bad.

Really good kit sales probably happen 4 or 5 times over the year.  You won't find vintage kits for $10.  Just the run of the mill normal kits.  I would think SOCAL would have tons of kits all the time.  What about that huge flea market in San Diego?  I forget exactly where it was - it's been many, many years.  It was in a parking lot of a stadium I think.

There's one swat meet I don't go to because the organizer(s) charge $3.00 just to get into the building.  Not my style.

Vendor with a Mohawk haircut (Randy maybe) puts out boxes of kits.  First kit is $8, buy 2 it's $15, buy 3 its $20.  Not Ollie's.  Most of the kits are sealed. Gotta go to Pinellas Park, FL for the sale. There's also a guy who does about the same thing at the Jaxcon show but doesn't have quite the selection.

Oh, we do have some pretty good shows down here and there are some great kits and deals to be found. But, as usual, there are no guarantees.

And the Swap Meet you are referring to is the Kobey's Swap Meet at the Sports Arena. I hardly ever find anything good anymore there.
