br67
Hi, I've seen a few guys using a photo etched saw blade for an xacto knife but don't know where to buy them - any tips ?
Ace-Garageguy
Worth ever penny. Usually available on Ebay, Amazon, and often direct from the manufacturer. http://www.modelcargarage.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=356 Tamiya also offers a set of a different design... https://www.amazon.com/Tamiya-TAM74094-Photo-Etched-Craft-Saw/dp/B003JTGZY4 Edited June 10, 2017 by Ace-Garageguy
crazyjim
Several places online. If you're planning on using to open doors or trunks, you also need to consider using sewing thread.
waynehulsey
Been wanting to try those. Think I actually bought the Tamiya ones at a swap meet but can't find them. Maybe first I should do some desk-workbench cleaning and organizing.

SSNJim
I have a set of photo-etched saw blades, but I don't know what brand - I don't use them much. I picked them up at my LHS when they had them on the pegboard. My go-to saw is an Exacto #1 knife with an Excel #13 saw blade. The blades are pretty easily available.http://shop.excelblades.com/p/13-fine-saw-blade-5-pcs-1I have a Zona-type saw, coping saw, hacksaw, Dremel saws, and others, but the #13 is my favorite. Much stiffer than a photo-etched blade, not much thicker (about #11 blade thickness) and easy to use.
