gtx6970 Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 MCW. Keep in mind there was 3 different blues avail then
High octane Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 If you're lookin' for B-5 Blue, I got mine in a spray can from MCW Automotive Finishes.
Snake45 Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 If you're lookin' for B-5 Blue, I got mine in a spray can from MCW Automotive Finishes. That particular shade of B-5 (there were several variations) looks very much like Model Master Nassau Blue.
gtx6970 Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 (edited) PS, B5 wasn't a color avail in 1968 . Thats a 1969 and 1970 color - coded EB5 , 1971 it became GB5 and is just a touch darker than previous years For 1968 Roadrunner the Blues were . EE1 , QQ1 and UU1. QQ1 is the closest to B5 but Q1 has a tad brighter brilliance to it. To answer the OP, the best bet is with the smaller companies making paints specifically for model car use. Scale Finishes is enamel. MCW is a lacquer Edited June 14, 2017 by gtx6970
Snake45 Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Judging from the chart and pics of the model above, I'd say Model Master Nassau Blue would be a pretty good match for UU-1.
High octane Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 The color I painted that '69 Coronet is Blue Fire Metallic by MCW.
