Just entered the work bench...

Duplicolor Silver on the outside, Duplicolor Plymouth red on the inside. Testors Chezoom wheels, unless something better comes along.

Got one on the burner..Doing a 64 Belvedere that I put the sedan roof on..Actually a nice kit..Follow instruction steps though..I glued the rad cradle to the underhood sides and now don't know if the engine will drop in with the fan and all on..Also line up your exhaust pipes so the fit snug to the manifolds..I haven't built in years and I'am sure learning the hard way as I used to also..I did use the bench seat from the stock 330 too(blue car on box)..Yours should look pretty slick when you are done..

Got some painting done today. I should be able for some assembly tomorrow. You can see the 2 holes I poked in the firewall - getting ready for some heater hoses.

If you haven't gotten one of those chrome paint pens from wally world, do yourself a favor and get one asap! The valve covers, fan, air filter cans and headers above were all painted with one. Best 3 bucks I've ever spent!

Stay tuned...

This may be one of my fastest builds. I've gotten a bunch done in the past few days. Interior getting done. Working on the dash now. Engine bay real close. Engine is painted and will be wired this time. I'm not feeling the wheels so I'll make these plan B I will be looking for something better this afternoon.

Greg, the pen I bought is DecoColor Premium. I found it in the arts and crafts aisle. These are the parts I painted with it. Not quite chrome but way shinier than silver testors paint. Closer to aluminum.

Stay tuned...

The wheels I finally decided upon came from a R/C car but they are skinny. All 4 of them. So I decided to make the rear ones deep dish. I did this by removing the tire then dremeled off the front lip. I shaved a 1/2" slice off of a pvc coupler and slid it on the rim. I like it. So I painted the coupler slice flat black.

I don't love the idea of murdered out wheels but this look is growing on me.

20170623_183713.jpg

I'm using the front wheels with the stock tires.

She's got a bit of the Pro Touring look. I don't hate it.

20170623_191547.jpg

To get the big rear wheels under the rear I had to remove the inner wells.

I wasn't happy with the stock rear so I cut the axle tubes off and reamed out the housing to make a real axle tube fit.

The Street Rodder in me is not feeling the black wheels. I'm going with these. I got them at Wally World. They were in with a pickup truck as a spare set. I'll get the rake worked out later.

Got a little work done on the motor. Ran in the fuel lines between the carbs and added a filter made from clear tree. I drilled a small hole thru the piece and ran some yellow paint inside to simulate the paper inside. A little hokey but I don't hate it. Whatcha think?

Ok, I'm back to my original pick. This is the final choice. I was able to makethe front wheels poseable.

Here's the rear after the axle tube replacement. I had to bring in the leaf springs.

I'm on the final stretch. The car didn't come with a battery or wipers or stick shift for that matter. I'll need to add those. Also I will do something for an exhaust. I want to do up the bright work on the body too. And the windows and radiator hose. Lots of little things left to do. So far this has been one of the easiest kits I have ever built. The only problem I had so far was the dashboard decals ripped. Other than that, no real complaints.

1 step forward, 2 steps backwards...

20170625_082625.thumb.jpg.dd0ebdc711ec4f

I decided the interior needed more attention. So I added the silver stripe and the darker red trim on the door panels.

Seats too. Also added the shifter. I think it was a extra from the 68 Charger kit.

20170625_081159.thumb.jpg.2bbfc7171dbd1f

Added the amber turn signals

20170625_081129.thumb.jpg.387b6bff8e40cc

And pulled a battery from the parts bin. This is one of like 12 that were included in the 60 Impala Lowrider kit.

I also bent up some tube stock as an exhaust. Added 2 mufflers but I wasn't happy with how it turned out. I may try aluminum.

I picked up one of these molotow 1mm pens. I gave the body a going over. This is the first time using this pen. It's a little tricky. The flow isn't very consistent. It will blob up at times.
