69NovaYenko Posted September 15, 2017 Author Posted September 15, 2017 (edited) Hi Mark, as always its good to hear from you. Gentleman I looked back at the kit review section & as I suspected the newly tooled 1/25 Revell 2-n1 Cuda was released around October 2012. That’s close to 5 years to the moth. And, the Sox & Martin Hemi Cuda drag car followed two years later around January 2014. That’s three months shy of three years ago.I do understand Revell not wanting to crowd the market with a third one, but hasn’t there been ample time for sales to slow down for the first two versions. And, with all due respect to you & Tim in the eloquently words of someone from another forum “We muscle car modelers ain't got that much more build time left in our hourglass of life.” Lol Edited September 15, 2017 by 69NovaYenko

afx Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 (edited) It is surprising that haven't issued an AAR version by now. A Trans- Am version is only a pipe dream so sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands. Edited September 16, 2017 by afx
Snake45 Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I did look through the old threads, unfortunately many of them suffer from Photobucket-blight so many of the pictures that illustrated the problem(s) are no longer visible. The post by Darin Bastedo from 2007, Fixing The Revell Aar 'cuda, showed a fix where he chopped the roof and hood area from the Revell '70 cuda and grafted it on to the Monogram 1971 kit. The pictures showed it as a definite improvement there and echos the previous post by Snake regarding the c-pillar/rear-window area problems. This gives me some idea of what to do about one of the most discussed problems. Thank you all for your information. I went back and looked at that thread. I can't quite figure out what's going on. Is the (white) top from the 2nd-gen AAR Cuda? I can't understand why one would do that, as the top on the Monogram '71 body is fine and even IMHO better than the top on the AAR. I really need to dig my 71-70 conversion out again and finish it. I just can't decide if I want to do it as a Hemi or an AAR. I kinda want a Hemi, but I'd have to come up with some way to do those goofy "louvred" rocker panels.
afx Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I would like to add that I am very impressed with Revell's current Cuda kits. They are exceptionally well engineered and the level of detail rivals any kit you care to mention, including Fujimi's Enthusiasts series.

Hence, is my reason I am championing a 1/25 scale 70 AAR Cuda. :-) Edited September 18, 2017 by 69NovaYenko
