aurfalien Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 (edited) Hi,As I'm finding about through reading and practice, smaller needles, say .2mm or less seem a bit inappropriate for painting 1/24 bodies and parts. The larger the needle, the less over spray I seem to have. What is the communities thoughts on this?I've a .15mm and a .2mm as well as a .4mm and the first 2 seem some what worthless. In fact I am contemplating getting a .6mm needle/nozzle/aircap set.Is this because I am inexperienced and will find them useful as I gather greater skill? Edited October 6, 2017 by aurfalien
Miatatom Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 I spray with a Paasche H and usually use the #5 needle (largest) for most applications.
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 My new "trigger airbrush" uses a .5 mm needle which is terrific for painting bodies.A smaller tip will give you a narrower spray pattern making it more difficult to give you an even paint job.I bought my new one specifically because I was beginning to have issues with "streaky" looking paint. randyc Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 I've been using a Paasche VLS for 16 years now. I use the "Medium" everything.
