Mixalz Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 I've just started building an AMT '72 Corvette Stingray. The gauges are moulded into the styrene. Any advice on how to paint these? I'm used to decals Cheers, Michael
David G. Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 I usually paint the gauges silver then use a black wash to bring out the raised details. Here's a little more detailed description of the method I usually use in one of my other posts: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/114936-revell-1960-chevy-september-21-update/?page=1David G.
afx Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 (edited) I painted this dash black then flattened (blunted) the end of a toothpick and rubbed the paint off the raised detail. Edited October 11, 2017 by afx
GLMFAA1 Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Old aircraft builder trick, paint gauge black then use prismacolor white and red pencils to highlight detailsgreg
StevenGuthmiller Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 There is a discussion on another thread right now about "Best Model Car Parts". He carries the decals. Steve
