As a boy there were certain heroes that made drag racing fun....Gas was one of mine.

Told by his doctor that he was too stressed out and that he should get a hobby to relax. So he picked drag racing.

Sad to learn of Mr. Ronda's passing.  A true gentlemen racer.  He along with Les Ritchey and Dick Brannan were the original three Ford Drag Team members.   Mr. Ritchey lost his life in 1966 from a racing accident.

Easily had some of the best looking Drag cars from that era. I saw this one a couple years ago. RIP

Gas was indeed a legend. I am saddened to hear of his passing. Like most cars of the era, Ronda's were pretty cool.  I feel a small connection to him, as the Mach 1 I drive today was originally purchased from Russ Davis Ford in Covina.
