Boy, I hope these models were saved - they look like 1/3 or 1/4 scale, along with the gas station:

The Mustang's a bit out of proportion, but the Fury and Caprice look spot-on!

A Gulf gas station something like that is a dream build of mine. Yeah, those models if they still exist would be worth a FORTUNE particularly since they have a television pedigree. That Mustang did look rather odd...........it looked rather Palmerish to me as a matter of fact! :D

What's wrong with the Mustang is that the roof's much, much too tall.

But what was the smaller Mustang--the one that looked about 1/24-1/25? Looked like a 1/24 diecast, but I don't know of any from back then.

That '66 Caprice was cool, though!

" Trust your car to the man who wears the star "  Texaco had a great slogan at that time. Enjoyed looking at these old ads and except for the Mustang it looks like this could have been early Green Screen technology. I agree that the scene with the Mustang at the pumps getting gas looks as though the rear of the body shrunk or something. The on the road scene were the giant lifts the hood is very Green Screeny to me.

Fun ads. Another good find. Thanks for sharing them with us Chris.

By the way, I notice the bouncy kids in the Fury sure were sitting still when the big Texaco man was servicing the car. Must of scared the heck out of them. "We'll be good mommy. Just don't let the giant get us!" Ahhhh. The discipline of the 1960's. When you still allowed to threatened and terrorize your kids. "Be good. Or I'll tire you over to giant at Texaco. Who eats kids!" It works for me! ?
