Does anybody know of a close color match to 982 Mosport Green in one of the major hobby paint lines (ie Tamiya, Testors) or would I need to go to a company such as Scale Finishes, etc? What, if any, have you found? I really love this color but I am looking for something more "off the shelf" than having to order it.

Looking for something like '69 Ford Silver Jade, I bought a can of touchup Hampstead Green at an auto parts store. It's a bit light for what I wanted, but might be very close to the color you're looking for. It's a touch greener than in this pic, but I think it's in your ballpark. (Test shot over various primers, none of which changed the color of it in any way.)

Thanks. I have an old can of that Hampstead green that I bought years ago for a project and never used. I may have to look at it again. Anybody else got any ideas?

I think I have a car painted in Hamstead Green Duplicolor paint - I’ve never seen Mosport Green in person, but might be close - might be a little too green judging by online photos.

Tamiya has Green Pearl also, which I have used too.

I’ll see if I can find photos to compare.

Or you can order Mosport Green from MCW...

Gremlin is Tamiya Green Pearl, probably has bet dark gray Duplicolor primer.

Fairlane is, I believe, Hamstead Green Duplicolor (with orange plastic slowly seeping through...)

Hope this helps

Interestingly, at the last local toy show I bought a (very cheap) diecast '63 Vette in a green that's very, very similar to that '66 green. No such color was offered on Corvette in '63.

I didn't think this looked very close on your Gremlin, but there's a '39 Chevy in Under Glass with that paint and it looks in the ballpark to me, so, maybe so....

Erik,

Here is a build that I did in the Tamiya Pearl Green.

I think that the Mosport Green is a different shade. More in the Gold family perhaps? At least it appears darker to me than the pearl green. Thanks for the help guys. Looks like I'm going to have to go aftermarket for this.
