bytownshaker Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 John I'm enjoying your builds, here's a picture I found of the truck. Edgar
vintagercr Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 John, how will you replicate the texture of the vinyl roof, because it is not pebbly?
10thumbs Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 John, just gotta love it! A pickup truck with a nasty motor, and a vinyl roof! Great modeling here guys. Excellent.
johnwitzke Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 (edited) Steve, I plan on using the vinyl roof material from Model Car Garage. This is the same material that I used to replicate the rubber mat on my 1963 lightweight Galaxie Edited January 16, 2018 by johnwitzke 1
Bowtienutz Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 The real truck didn't have a vinyl top just a for better way to explain it it looked like trunk paint.
johnwitzke Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 (edited) Ben, I have cut away some of the center section of the seat and will use half round Plastruct styrene plastic to create the pattern Vinnie....close up photos show that the top is vinyl Edited January 16, 2018 by johnwitzke
Ron Hamilton Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 I have an original 1963 Falcon convertible to restore. I have fixed the body, and I am considering the fixes on the interior. I may have to remove the bucket seats from the tub to add detail, and if I do, I plan to copy them in resin for the Pickup project. The resin copy I have represents a '62, but I have two other '63's. One, an original AMT, which I can back date to a 62, and a resin Flareside. On my pickup, I plan to take a couple of liberties, one an FX style dual scooped hood, a set of American Torque Thrusts, with the widened rears with pie-crust cheaters, and red paint, with white inserts in the mouldings. Just a nasty, street driven beast. 1
El Caballo Posted January 18, 2018 Posted January 18, 2018 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 with a race cam sounds so awesome.
