unclescott58 Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Does anybody have any idea how to remove decals, if soaking them in warm water does nothing to them? Will something like rubbing alcohol, or something else help?
Lizard Racing Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Have you tried applying scotch tape and pulling them off? I assume you want to avoid damaging the underlying finish.
peteski Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 If tape (Scotch, or even masking tape) doesn't work you can try softening them with 91% rubbing alcohol, or one of the decal setting solutions, then gently scrape them off. But be careful as those liquids might affect the paint.
yh70 Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 get u some micro set and keep brushing the old decals with the set..it may take up to a hr but it will soften them..i just took some off that had been on for 3-4 years.
unclescott58 Posted January 25, 2018 Author Posted January 25, 2018 Great suggestions. I would have never thought about the tape. I'm going to give that one a try first.
vintagercr Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 I have always used scotch tape like the fellows above.
slusher Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 I use masking tape once and soaked the body in warm water and used a sponge and rubbed the rest off..
