Hey, Guys...... I was looking at this casting by Flintstone on Model Roundup. It says it pretty much comes with everything but wheels and glass. The Catalina from AMT is suggested to use for a donor. Is that to just get glass and other miscellaneous bits? I will probably just build this as a curb-side and would hate to buy an entire kit just to borrow the clear parts from it.......

Thanks for any help! This may become my first resin project.

The windshield from the AMT kit "might" fit. Hard to say 100% with resin. The rear window would not fit at all, wrong roof style.

If it were me, I'd find a cheep Lindberg '61 Impala or an AMT '62 BelAir and swap the whole roof section. They both have the same roof as the Olds in 1/1. That way you're pretty well guaranteed the glass will fit.

Loads of work though.

You could always check the fit of the glass from the Chevy kits and the windshield from the Pontiac, Heck, you might get lucky.

Thank you, Fellows...... I have the glass from the '61 Lindberg Impala, if that fits, or I can coax it into fitting, I'm a set of Pegasus wheels away from a cool mild custom......

Astros, bellflowers, etc.......

It is always a BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH shoot with Jimmy's stuff as it can vary from time to time. I would buy it and check with what you have and go from there, most likely something will work.

I've been looking around online at this kit, seems the '62 Bel Air is a ideal match for the glass... also, Hobbylinc has this at 20% off right now, so I know where I will be ordering it from!

Thanks, Guys.....

I bought this kit sometime back & after a little messing around, I found that the glass from the AMT '62 Belair kit was probably the best fit.

But don't expect it to drop right in!

The castings on Flintstone's stuff is pretty thick & it took me quite a bit of careful grinding with a Dremel tool to get the glass to seat anywhere close to where it needs to be.

While the castings are very nice & blemish free, expect to spend some time with the Dremel to get things to fit correctly.
