Thanks Carsntrucks4you for letting me host this weeks AutoQuiz.

Rules are as usual: PM me with make, model and year(s) and be as specific as you can.

Hope you like this one:

This weeks car was a 1965 - 1968 Nissan Silvia CSP311

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Silvia

Only 554 were produced. I’m pleasantly surprized by the number of good answers, even though I used a picture with non-Japanese mirrors to not give away its origin to easily... The link to Datsun, which some of you named the brand of this car, is obvious, I guess.

Lovely car, imho. I can see this as kind of an ancestor to the IDx concept cars, Nissan should’ve taken into production.

So, those who got it right:

Oh, nice one... and very irritating! I bought one of these because I thought it looked cool in an issue of Hemmings Sports & Exotic:

And I still didn't recognise it...

WOW...a kit?? Holy moly. GOTS to try to find one now...

I knew it was Japanese, but I just couldn't get my old brain to stop saying it was a Yotyto or a Mazzder.

I didn’t even know there’s a kit of this car...

Will you build it as a standard car?

That's the plan... the kits has all the normal parts in: the only "Patrol Car" extras are a beacon for the roof and an extra radio, IIRC (There's a "Sprue D") with just the police parts on...

best,

M.

Somehow by the looks I immediately thought that this has to be a Japanese car. But it took a bit of time to figure out what make it is. That's actually pretty good looking body style!

Looking forward to your build!
