50fleetline Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Just finished this merc for a mini model build off amongst some buddies. Havent built a model in about 15 years but now im hooked again.
Spex84 Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Cool fade job! I love the shine that green flake is picking up on the tops of the fenders and roof. This is a very cleanly assembled for 15 years out of the game, nice work! Fun, isn't it?
50fleetline Posted March 19, 2018 Author Posted March 19, 2018 Thankyou! Yea it sure is addicting. I used createx airbrush paint with ppg pearl pigment. 6 shades of green. Was going for a Gene Winfield theme
randyc Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 NICE! I always love to see how folks interpret this kit.
espo Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 I also think you got the Winfield paint treatment correct. Very clean fit and finish thru out. Fifteen years, I guess it's just like ridding a Bicycle, you just jump right back on and ride. Look forward to seeing more of your builds.
50fleetline Posted March 19, 2018 Author Posted March 19, 2018 Thankyou!!! Yep just like riding a bicycle! Next on the bench is an AMT 1960 ford Starliner which i plan to do a mild kustom with some sort of 60s Watson paint job.
shoopdog Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Outstanding build, I really like it without the fender skirts.
50fleetline Posted March 22, 2018 Author Posted March 22, 2018 Thanks guys! Hoping to one up this build with the next. Will be posting in the work bench section in the next couple days i hope.
