Dave B Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 I was lucky enough to be given a mint Revell Lotus 23 slot car body some time back. It was minus head lights and head light glass but the glass could be vacformed. Finally decided to build it. Cut away the interior panel and scratch built the interior. Cast some suitable "wobbly" wheels, tyres and seats and painted it with auto acrylic. Decals out of the parts box. Looks great sitting besides my Maserati Tipo 61's, Lotus 11's and other period racing sports cars. Tks for looking Dave B
peekay Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Really nice! Back when racing cars were beautiful.

Bernard Kron Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Wonderful model of an incredibly significant and pivotal car. It's always been a powerful symbol of Chapman's genius - such a simple translation of the 18 into the sportscar sphere. It's elegance and efficiency is staggering. This model captures it perfectly. And of course Eric Broadley "got it" and created his Lola Mk. 6 Coupe, another hyper-significant car I would love to see in scale. Results like this keep me moving forward to acquiring the skills like vacu-forming and casting to be able to create the missing elements that would help me realize the ideas in my head. Thanks for sharing this.
