martinfan5 Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Here we go, Clint's 2018 HAAS ride, decals are from Stoney but for the 2017 year, the only difference from 17 to 18 is the anniversary SHR logo for 2018, and the contingency decal placement. Painted with Tamiya's new lacquer jar paint, over Mr Surfacer Black with a few coats of semi gloss clear and a coat of dull coat. Tire decals from Powerslide. Lowered ride height, made a low downforce spoiler from the snap kit spoiler, splitter cut from .15 sheet plastic, added some window braces, wedge adjustment bolts and the few missing roll bars.
MarkJ Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 Awesome as usual, Jonathan. You got these things down pat on how to do them. Excellent build.

Force Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Very nice. I just got a couple of the new tool Revell NASCAR kits, 1 Ford and 1 Chevy, and they looks to be quite nice. But Revell has had bad timing again...right after they release a new tool kit of the Chevy SS the Chevy teams change bodystyle to Camaro.

Hakan, you can get a resin Camaro body that will fit your chevy kit.
Force Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 (edited) Well I was more thinking about Revell wich did the investment for new tool NASCAR kits...and they really are nice ones...but the bodystyle in one of these all new kit is obsolete less than half a year after the kit is released...talk about bad timing. Revell will most likely tool up a new body for the Chevy kits soon to get the most out of their investment, I don't believe the cost for the tooling is covered just yet. Between the two Ford kits and the one Chevy kit, Revell did a 20 thousand piece run of the tooling( guessing they did 5k run of Danica's kit), with the bodies and one part tree being different. The agreement expires this year so it will be very interesting to see what happens moving forward, and will they tool up the Camaro body, one reason why I am holding off on getting the resin body. I suppose you mean the Camaro ZL-1 body, not the SS.
