I plan to finish the Ford before I start this project. The resin cab is from an unknown source, but I assume it was Back Yard Shed. The plan for now, unless I get ambitious and scratch build my own, is to use the AMT wrecker bed. Power will be 8v-71 with dual straight pipes.

With the Ford done, this one is on the work bench now. The plan has changed on the engine. Instead of an 8v-71, this one will have a 6-71. I have an old Clint Freeman engine to use. I have a set of frame rails from GW Trucks to use. This one is going to have a "Big Stick" wrecker bed. Here is what I'm starting out with.

Looking good Brian!!!! Just a question, are you leaving the mis-match height between the bed and cab?

Thanks! There will be a difference. I'm not sure how much. Big stick beds were that way.

It looks like you're making the body longer. This is going to be an interesting project.

Yes sir. The AMT body was just too short. It's a combination of AMT and scratch built parts. That's why I decided to use blank rails too.

I've made a little progress on this one:

Here you can see the AMT bed side compared to the lengthened one:

The back of the cab wasn't made correctly. Here's a picture of the real thing:

Here's the modified resin cab:

The floor pan had to be modified to match:

I cut the dog house out for the shifter, I scratch built a glove box for the dog house, I also added to the dash as the kit one wasn't correct:

I also added wiper motor covers, opened up the grill, and the center post for the windshield:

I even got some paint on the cab:
