ewetwo Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 All done. :-) I bought this kit at a sale. Body was painted red, No fenders or anything. Just a few spare motors that I have no idea what they are for except for the flat head. I put it together and this is what I came up with. I usually build stock so this was fun. :-) I know the horn isn't suppose to be there but I thought it would be kind of cool.:-)
ewetwo Posted April 11, 2018 Author Posted April 11, 2018 Thank you all. I just realized that the carbs are on backwards. My dyslexia kicking in. LOL
Jantrix Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 If I might offer a small bit of critique, a little time removing mold seams on parts would go a long way to improving your work. By mold seams I mean the line on the front of the horn, side of the header pipes, across the middle of the carbs/stacks. Nearly every part has then out of the box. Even the tires. The easiest way to deal with them is using sanding sticks. You can find them in the nail care area of your local beauty supply store.
espo Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 This looks like one of the early AMT '32's. I kike the big "Meats" all the way around, like a road racer.
Lunajammer Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 I like these old AMT 32s for their ease of building. There's adequate detail without getting fiddly and they look neat when done. There are some body proportion issues but who cares. Neat rod David.

When I gone. It will give the next owner a reason for taking it apart and rebuilding it. LOL. :-) Edited April 11, 2018 by ewetwo

When I was a kid (yes I'm old) all the models had screw on chassis. Maybe a motor. Maybe not. The suspension was already molded into the chassis. The wheels went on a metal Axel. The kit was built in one day. Now the Cobra I'm working on was intense as far as the number of parts. Models have really changed. Unfortunately being Dyslexic and having Raynaud's Disease. I see things backwards at time (the carbs on backwards) and can't tell if I still have the little tail light in my fingers or not. I've tried tweezers but they don't work as I can't feel how light or hard I'm holding the tweezers. LOL It's all fun. :-)

When first issued years ago with a '32 Roadster also based off of this tooling, they both had the stock skinnies and wire wheels with the option of some standard steel wheels and I think some slicks. The muffler and partial tail pipe cast in the frame was for the stock engine. I don't remember which was a Model B with a 4 cyl. but I think it was the model you have. The other had the base Flat Head engine and had an optional overhead V8. Again I'm not sure which was which. Those two kits were a really big deal when they came out and the '30's and '40's era kits started becoming very popular after there issue.
