modelfink Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Hey guys, this past Saturday I went to Greenville Pickens Speedway to watch the Vintage Racing Association. There were some tough looking cars that compete in this group. The racing was great as well. They really put down some fast laps and aren't afraid to mix it up. I took several pics that will hopefully be good reference material for you guys. Enjoy!

Miatatom Posted May 7, 2018 Posted May 7, 2018 Great pics! I saw my first race at Greenville Pickens in '56. Sat on the flatbed of the Dover Cylinder Heads truck on the back straight. I don't even remember a fence between us and the cars. NONE of the old cars had anything approaching roll cages in these cars.
TarheelRick Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 (edited) Definitely some good looking machines. I just went through my file of Vintage Racers from the 2011 North-South Shootout at Concord Speedway, NC. Didn't see any overlaps so thought I would share a link to my album. https://imgur.com/a/92Gpvkq If you notice there are actually two different 57 Fords #4 and #4D, one is a chopped top post car and the other is a hardtop with no A pillars.
