george 53 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 WoW,Daniel, That sure is a twist on the original idea.I kinda like it,all fenderless like that. Looks more like a REAL hot rod.I'd like to see how it comes out.
CB Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 OH BOY! OHBOYOHBOYOHBOY!!! Danny dude--yer one crazy awesome rod builder!! Is it 'Z-woody-rat'?
Jairus Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Personally, I would lose the wheels in favor of some good steelies. Hot Rodders never (or rarely) used spokes because they were weaker than solid steel.
Robert81 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Looks sweet. What are your plans for the engine? IMHO the flathead from the sedan would be perfect, but it is not my build, do what you want. Looks like you have a lot of work into the chassis.
sdrodder Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 love it. All it needs is a ardun powered flathead with a s.co.t blower and 4 sidedraft carbs. Love the wheels.
JAFFA Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Looking great!! Just like Robert 81 said, a flathead would look awesome! Personally, i would go back to the wire-spokes....
Paul Payne Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 (edited) Please lose the donk wheels and go back to the spokes and white walls- that's what really caught my eye on this build, and I think your first instincts were right on. Edited September 7, 2008 by Paul Payne
Robert81 Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Is that a inline six I see? I whole heartedly agree the big wheels have to go. The wood work looks great.
simonr Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Looks awesome so far, I also prefer the original look, but, this one it's also great. Bestial como siempre! Simón P. Rivera Torres
kasteer Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Coool looking Rod! I like the color choices, but I'd go back to the spokes. The donks just don't do it justice... IMHO. Keep us posted!
Joe Handley Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Is that a inline six I see? I whole heartedly agree the big wheels have to go. The wood work looks great. Looks more like a slant than an inline , very cool if it is!
Spike Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 sure does look like a leaning tower of power. i personally like the big rims on it, but thats just me
Joe Handley Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Glad I'm not the only one that thought that 6 looked a little slanted I do like the wires too though.
george 53 Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Yeah, Mike, I'd ditch the Donks an go with the spokes, as they seem to go with the character of the car much better. The paint looks real nice too! Great build, so far!
kerc Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 (edited) I would remove the chrome off the big rims, and paint them in a nice color. I think the yellow you had on the original rims could work nice. You could also paint them red, but paint the rim white (kinda simulating a whitewall), or leave the rim chrome. This is what I did with my '34 in a similar vein to your cool-looking rod: By the way, I absolutely love that creamy color you chose! Edited September 8, 2008 by kerc
