Super Mario Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Hopefully the effects and story telling will be as good as Rush. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/james-mangold-direct-ford-ferrari-project-fox-1081866 sorry is this should have went in off topic
unclescott58 Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 I don't think this is off topic for here. And I for one would look forward to a movie on this. One of my favorite cars, the Ford GT and GT40 came from this battle.
Miatatom Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Is this the movie that Matt Damon is supposed to be cast as Carroll Shelby? If that's the case, it's going to take some good make up and acting to convince me I'm watching anything close to CS. I don't know if Damon can pull it off.
Chris in Berwyn Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 If you haven’t seen the 24 Hour War you’ll like it. Suspect it will be better than the big budget version.
Greg Myers Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 (edited) "the 24 Hour War" is this another film ? Guess so Documentary . . . https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4875844/ Edited June 24, 2018 by Greg Myers
Lizard Racing Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Could it be that was 50 years ago! I remember the Ford vs. Ferrari and arguing who actually won. I highly recommend the book Go Like Hell by A. J. Baime. It has good character insights into Enzo and Henry, which was the cause of the whole affair.

It does look like Damon will be Carroll Shelby and Christian Bale as his driver. The 24 hour war was pretty good and I think it’s still on Amazon if you have Prime.
Vince Nemanic Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Shortly after Le Mans "66, Ken Miles was killed testing the Ford J car.
935k3 Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 (edited) Another good one is 8 meters which is about the dead heat finish that was ordered by Ford but was not allowed by the race organizers. Ken Miles should have been the 1966 winner. 8 Meters Edited June 25, 2018 by 935k3

The Junkman Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 My son got me an Amazon Firestick for Christmas and one of the first movies I watched was "The 24 Hour War". If you're an enthusiast its worth your while but, at the end, it is a documentary-with a bit of a Ford slant I thought. I wish them well but auto racing movies have such a checkered history.
