Richard Bartrop Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 The chopped convertible at 1:00 looks like someone put a Studebaker grille on an early Mercury. It's a nice look if you're wanting something a little different i the way on an early custom.
bamadon Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 Great look into the past. Some interesting unusual cars too. I saw a Bugatti and maybe an Auburn? Not sure about that one. Don

At that time it was just another old Pre War race car and maybe it could have been had for far less than you may think.
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Many of the big names that established hot-rodding as a big deal post-war were active racing on the lakes pre-war...like Vic Edelbrock. Here's the story of his early car: http://www.hotrod.com/articles/hrdp-0405-edelbrocks-first-hot-rod/ Stu Hilborn was another one: http://hilborninjection.com/hilborn-history/
