Dann Tier Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 Hey, everyone!, the following is the evolution of how I take a boring, one-piece engine bay, and turn it into something so much better, with a bit of wiring, and SBing. -Photo 1; Apart from cutting a window, and drilling a ton of holes all over, this is the Whole engine in one part. To the right, I cut some mesh to fit as a covering that the real car has.
Dann Tier Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 -Photo 2; Here is the bit detail painted as Fujimi instructs....still not that great.
Dann Tier Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 -Photo 3; Here it is with the Dann Touch. I wired up as much as I could, and here I am pointing at the last SB throttle body plate that I made for it. I left it off, so that you can see how huge a difference they make....notice the lower left throttle body.
Dann Tier Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 -Photo 4 &5; A couple of angles to show how the completed bit looks.
Dann Tier Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 -Photo 6; Heres the window that I had to add...
Dann Tier Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 -Photo 7; This is just an under side view to show most of the holes I drilled, and wired-up. Next step will be gluing this bugger in so that I can mate the body, and chassis finally.
Rider Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 I always injoy seeing builders detail these limited detail engines. Great work.

Dann Tier Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 Hey, everyone!, got a pretty decent update here from last night! -Photo 1; I have successfully installed the glass!, infact, I've never had one go in this easily before....no edge sanding, and it just "clicked" right in!!
Dann Tier Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 -Photo 2; Just a nice profile shot, and the weatherstripping I painted rubber in the doorway.
Dann Tier Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 -Photo 4; Here you can see more of the weatherstripping, and the hinge mount that I painted.
Dann Tier Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 -Photo 5; There is such a huge difference in the look after I opened the two sail panel vents on each side!...I still cant believe they were molded shut!

Not really accurate, but much better looking overall than the kit piece! Love your Lambo! Edited May 10, 2019 by dino246gt

Dann Tier Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 (edited) -Photo 6; The next few photos are of the engine in different angles, showing that it CAN look great!.....well, that last photo is rubbish, but I will take a better one with the next update! Edited May 10, 2019 by Dann Tier

I don't mind at all, bud!, that's a great example of the transformation of a VERY basic, and boring part!...NICE job!!! I've built the full detail Aoshima already, and I have one of these Fujimi ones in the works now. I'm doing a "Whose Part Is Better" post as I go along. I cant believe that there is NO coil spring detail!!!, must be the same guy who designed my Reventon kit!
OldNYJim Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 You do such beautiful, clean work Dann! What an inspiration! I always enjoy following your builds!
ATHU Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Oh yes, this is sooo nice!! Brilliant work as always Dann!!??
