Richard Bartrop Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 I've been on a late 50s early 60s hotrod kick lately because it's an interesting transition time. You can see the hobby start to move away from what we think of as the traditional hot rod and custom look, and not all of it was successful, but I really like this one. Not quite the full traditional look, but still done with balance and restraint. It's a look that would be easy enough to replicate with any of the existing kits. More photos from the event can be found here: https://www.hotrod.com/articles/looking-back-to-1960-la-roadster-show/
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Particularly interesting on the car above is the lengthened hood, and the cut-away hood sides to clear the frame rails due to the deep channeling job.

Looks like the same cut Bill Niekamp used on his famous roadster

In addition the builder seems to have streamlined the door hinges. California had some interesting Fender requirements at that time.

Bainford Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 (edited) Check out the blower set up on this bad boy. I've seen a lot of creativity in blower installations over the years, but I don't think I've seen anything like this. Edited July 26, 2018 by Bainford
