1976 Autocar A64B dedicated to JR

Well it’s finaily here the A64B. I’ve had this painted for several  years and when I seen the new decal register in the kit  I knew  exactly the way I was going to build this one. Some day when if I ever repaint my real 1.1 Autocar I thought about this paint scheme. This build is dedicated  to my Dad who spent a lot of time helping me to restore my real truck. He got to see it at only one truck show in Paducah KY. after we finished it and then he passed away with cancer. The last picture in this set is of him when we was restoring it. He drove for 43yrs with No  accidents And log millions of miles. Truckers that new him around town always called him JR because that’s what he put on his trucks “J.R. Drennen”. So this ones for him enjoy the pics.

Just thought I would give a update on the tribute. I sold my 1.1 Autocar A64b the first week of November. I was in a bad car accident In September  that didn’t help my Arthritis I’ve been fighting for years and it seems the accident has made it worse. Saying that I had to realize I can no longer crawl around the old truck and give her the attention she needs. The truck was starting to go down hill fast so instead of letting her rust and rod to death I decided to sell her. She went to a good home and the gentleman who bought her is going to restore her back to the original color and stripe I showed him on the line sheet I gave him. I plan on finishing this build this year and build one from the original line sheet.I had her 19yrs  Here’s some pics of our hay days and our last day together.

Great looking 1.1 a real classic! I am sure the model is going to look as good as the real thing and will be a fitting tribute to your dad, good look with the build, I will be following and looking forward to seeing more.

Geoffrey. Thanks for stopping by and the complement. I hated to sell my truck last Fall but with my physical condition I couldn’t keep it looking the way it should look so I sold to a guy who’s going to keep the old girl in shape and take her to truck shows like I did.

Jeff. Thanks for the complement it’s been a fun build. I’ll have a update on a couple days. When I bought the real truck I asked what color green was that the owner said it ford jade green I matched it with Dupicolor rattle can
