ismaelg Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Hello, As I'm typing this, Hawaii is been affected by a hurricane. Needless to say, I know what that is first hand. Eleven months after our wild rodeo we are still struggling to recover. My prayers and best wishes for Hawaii, especially to our own, Gregg. I truly hope it doesn't get bad. Thanks,
High octane Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 Yes thoughts and prayers to all the people living on the Hawaiian Islands as it is my most favorite place to visit.
iamsuperdan Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 DId I read it right? 79mm of rain? That's over 2ft! Hope our Hawaiian friends stay safe.

OldTrucker Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 Heard on the weather Channel today that the Big Island has seen up to 4 foot of rain ! That is hard to to even visualize!

I know it seems to be a really big issue because of the poor condition of the power grid prior to the hurricane. Had a neighbor who's son was down there trying to help.(woks here for ComEd) He was there for 5 months until he got too sick and had to come home! He dropped 30 pounds while there. Said he was spending most of his food money on the poor little kids that were hungry.

Yes the grid was facing many challenges before but personally I don't think it was as bad as they want to make it look. Politicians are worst than hurricanes.... Please thank your neighbor for me. Tell him to contact me if he ever comes back. I would like to personally thank him! Back to the topic of Hawaii, it seems they did not get major wind damage but the heavy rain was apocalyptic. Up to 52 inches of rain at a mountain station. That is catastrophic in terms of flooding. Has anyone heard from Gregg? I sent him a note over messenger but no response so far. Thanks,

ismaelg Posted August 31, 2018 Author Posted August 31, 2018 Just got a note from Gregg. Glad to know he is ok after the hurricane.
