Drag City Castings- new items added 10/22/18

Just got my order the other day. Beautiful castings, as always from Drag City Castings. Some of these items are brand new to his catalog, others he's been offering for awhile. Louvered trunk lid for the Revell 32 5 Window (in case you've used up all your kit sourced ones since they fit the Revell 30 coupe and I think the Revell 32 roadster/Rat Roaster)

Blue Beetle Caddy valve cover/heads. The valve covers in the reissue Blue Bandito do not have the script.

 

Sectioned 32 ford grille (perfect for a Milner deuce project)

36 Ford pickup grille (this piece came shipped assembled to protect the parts, so I honestly thought it was one piece, that's how good the casting is)

Here's the modified SWC Willys seats that Ed modified and upgraded. Look at the fidelity in the piping on these

Remember fellows, that the AMT 53 pickup has no interior side or rear panels, or even a bucket. The detail, which is barely there, is molded on the inside of the body. This interior kit is light years beyond what comes in the kit.

You know I never noticed the sparse interior in the '53 but then that was 40+ years ago or more.  Now before you jump all over me I never widened the fenders, the wood frame rails might not have supported the extra weight of the extra sheet metal.  Ha, ha, just kidding.

Just found some time to photograph the few new items I've gotten from Drag City Castings recently. I was particularly happy he made this T-Bird roof available since it fits the AMT body so much better then the one provided in the kit. That's because it's from the Jr. Craftsman kit, so it's a different tool than their more widely known full detail series 57. Also shown is the modern tool AMT 56 T-Bird roof, because it also fits that body really well. Since the windshield header is different in that kit you will have to do a little work there to adapt it, but I'm sharing it just for comparison sake.

left- 56, middle- Drag City Castings 57, right- AMT 57 (note the curvature of the bottom of the parts, this is the key to the better fit)

Here are a few other recent additions to my catalog if anyone is actually reading this thread?! These are molded from original issue parts that have not been available in the AMT '40 Ford coupe and sedan kits since the original issues. The hoods ('40 and '39) are technically from the sedan kit. The only difference between the '40 Deluxe coupe hood and the '40 Deluxe sedan hood was the center hood trim on the front. It is slightly different; but very tough to spot; especially if you don't have one of each to compare. These were molded since almost all of the reissues (starting with the earliest reissues) had fitment issues; and the side trim has gradually disappeared........something still not fixed on the latest retro box art reissues.

I am sorry to disappoint, but I do not sell that hood. These fine models were built by John Goschke . I do plan on offering a louvered hood for the AMT '40 Fords hopefully soon; but have been stretched a bit thin lately as far as time to work on new masters myself.
