Glenn Tooley Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 I used the old AMT kit that's been around forever. Built entirely box-stock, ecxept for the parts-box wheels. Just needed to build a simple model for a change of pace. Rattle-can red with black chassis.....nothin' special.
'70 Grande Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 (edited) This is one of the best-looking executions of this "tough-to-build" kit that I have ever seen! Your rattlecan paint job looks excellent, and the stance and wheel/tire swap looks just right, too! I've attempted to build this kit two times, and had poor-success with one and never finished the other. This kit is great subject matter, and difficult to make look good; but you sure did! Glenn Tooley Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 Thanks! The flipnose hinge mechanism really fought me.....i had to trim them down and glue the hinges on with the hood closed.
donb Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Looks really good. Ditto on the previous comment about a tough kit.
oldcarfan Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 That looks really nice. Such a smooth paint job and a good build of a hard to do kit.
espo Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 Very nice looking build. That front end has kept me from ever trying my hand at building one of these.
THarrison351 Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 Looks great. I think I built that as a kid when it was still under the MPC banner. It seemed MPC had several flip front street freak cars in the seventies. 1957 Chevy, Ford Mustang this pickup and a Corvette. Maybe more, that's just the ones I remember building.
