Limeyglue Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Here are a few photos of my latest WIP . Its the Revell 5 window with modified Buick drums from the Revell A roadster and Orange Crate wheels. The front has been lowered by thinning the spring and notching the frame. I think i will lower the rear as small amount as i think it sits little high. I also plan on chopping the top once i am happy with the stance. Thanks for looking. Lee
Dave Darby Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 I like it. Not sure I'd drop the rear though. I think the stance is spot on where you have it.
dino246gt Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 I think the stance is perfect now! Also love those rims not chromed. COOL!
Limeyglue Posted November 5, 2018 Author Posted November 5, 2018 Thanks guys i think i will keep the stance as it is. Lee
dodgefever Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Yeah, that looks good as it is. If you're going for a period build as it seems you are, then either a flat sheet firewall or one of Ed Fluck's stock-style resin pieces would look better than the kit part. What's the plsn for the engine?
Limeyglue Posted November 7, 2018 Author Posted November 7, 2018 Thanks Stu i'm using the kit hemi but with early rocker covers and eight carb manifold from the amt f100 pickup. i was planning to use a resin stock looking firewall i have seen on evilbay. Where would i get one from Ed Fluck? Cheers Lee
dodgefever Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Sounds good. The DeSoto was a different (smaller) engine in 1:1, but if the valve covers fit you can fake it. Ed doesn't have a website currently, you have to order via email. I've dealt with him a number of times via the TRaK forum, so I'm happy to vouch for him. He has a new Facebook page with contact info and a link to a Fotki album of his products: https://www.facebook.com/Drag-City-Casting-788175751574801/
Limeyglue Posted November 8, 2018 Author Posted November 8, 2018 Thanks for the info Stu. I will have a look at what he has to offer. Lee
Mr. Metallic Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Ed ships international too. here's a look at the firewall. You can probably find some other cool stuff in his offerings to make the shipping cost worth it here's a link to his online album of products https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/member_dealer_directory/drag-city-casting-/
Limeyglue Posted November 11, 2018 Author Posted November 11, 2018 Thanks Craig, i had a look on the facebook page and spotted a few things i liked. Yep RRR i intend to using Denis Laceys tutorial he put on here a while back. cheers Lee
