59 Impala Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Does anyone know if there was a kit made of the 68 Ford f 600 stake bed truck? I drove one back in the 70's and would like to build a replica of it. Thanks in advance. Dan
Spruslayer Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Have a look at this, not exactly what you seek but could work into one https://aitruckmodels.com/product/ford-f-600700/

Dan http://www.missinglinkrc.com/ford_kits_2012.htm This is exactly what you looking for, BUT its status COMING BACK SOON more then a year already. Ask Kevin to remake it. I did a year before. One more person interested recently. May be we should ask him alltogether this time? Edited December 7, 2018 by Sergey

The Missing Link truck is the later '73-79 dentside style though...'73-79 style...not a '67-72 bumpside. Different cab.
59 Impala Posted December 7, 2018 Author Posted December 7, 2018 The one I drove was in the mid to late 70's. The one I saw in the link is so small I can't really see what it looks like. The picture won't zoom to see it better.

I mastered this one, and it has a few minor issues. The door handles on the real truck are old pull styles, not the flush pickup type like on this model. The dash is also from the previous generation on this size of truck (source it from Moebius Ford pickups). The dash for the AMT pickup is right for the pickup, but not this truck. I don't know when Kevin will start casting these again, I'm not aware of any damage to the master.
mk11 Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 (edited) If you're really ambitious to build the '68-'72 F600, the old R&R resin '72' will supply a reasonable but not totally accurate cab to swap in behind the M/L front fenders. And if you're really, really ambitious, you could use the moeb F100 cab. However, with the upper roof structure so noticeably out of proportion, you'll have to use the amt cab roof/windshield/cowl to correct it Good luck! mike Edited December 7, 2018 by mk11

Appears to be a heavier F 750 for F 800, lighter F 600- F 700 have a slightly different style spoke wheel. I believe there is a resurgence of interest in older medium heavy trucks, now that modern aerodynamic big rigs have become so boring. I'm a definite buyer of 2 or 3 when they become available! Now that the Moebius '69-'72 pickup cab is out, is there a chance of the "bumpside" medium duty version being mastered Tom?

I really don't mind if there is a slight difference in some of the parts. Dan
