Ace-Garageguy Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 (edited) This may be old news to some. Though he left us back on May 21, I didn't know until today. I figured he needed to be remembered here. For those who don't know, he was a metal-shaper at the top of the pile. Really nobody any better, and sculpted the bodies for some of the best cars ever built. R.D.F. Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Just a thought. What would you have become if you walked into his shop as a kid and he showed you the ropes?
mikemodeler Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 I remember seeing him on an old episode of American Hot Rod building a car body for Boyd Coddington. They showed how he managed to hammer and form a beautiful car from aluminum, extremely impressive.
58 Impala Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 His shop has done work for several of the top custom builders. He worked with his two sons who I'm sure will continue their excellent work.
disabled modeler Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 Sad... I just hope there is always someone to take over the torch...otherwise that level of skill will be lost forever. RIP.
misterNNL Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 Old world hand craftsmanship at it's absolute zenith.
