So after sleeping on last nights work, I took another look at the trim and saw some stuff I didn’t like. The points on the quarters looked too long. I changed the curvature next to the tulip panel and ended about 3/32 of an inch shorter. Not a huge amount but it looks better to me.1CEC77B6-845C-4F0A-A3B4-E133CA144AAB.thumb.jpeg.9f1dc95808ce2eb28206197ea068b508.jpeg

The passenger side is corrected in the picture.

Onward!

I knew from the moment you announced this project it was gonna be special... I bet you wish that vinyl top was molded on out of the box... It sure looks that way now... way easier to remove it than to add it on I'd bet.

I think I'm gonna send you mine and let you handle that top for me ? lol....

Definitely easier to remove! This is making me cross-eyed!?

Lol! Rumors are flying that Revell may in fact do a Baldwin motion addition once the new wears off the "Stock" version... Meanwhile, I'm loving this build!

Well, I was unable to get to pouring silicone the last couple of nights. In the meantime, since I have three of the Chevelles so far, I figured I would master corrected bucket seats. They are not so much wrong as they are in two pieces with a difficult seam to fill. The top of the upper cushion rolls over the top of the plastic seat back. In my mind the separation between the front and back of the seats should have followed the plastic seat back all the way. Instead, the seam goes right over the top of the cushion. The pictures explain it well.D6A7AC93-1DDB-4BF3-99EE-718DE2C8B5FF.thumb.jpeg.0bc91f9494e33907693cc0a2934438f2.jpeg

The seat closest is the modified seat.

You can see hear how the top of the cushion rolls over now.

Here are the front and rear parts of the seat in modified form. I think I’m going to cast him as one unit.

This is what the final casting should look like.

That thing is killer. It’s inspired me to do one like yours, as I love the BM cars. I collected most of what I’ll need, and hopefully it’ll be a decent shelf model...I hope. Your’s will be a true replica. Can’t wait to see it finished!

Scratch built the hone overdrive tonight. Shortened the drive shaft too. That needs finishing but it’s 1:30am and I’m beat.

I used Evergreen tubing for the largest diameter of the part. The rest is spru and an axle from a Corvette rear.FBD22FED-3AED-4CCA-99E7-542734184C6B.thumb.jpeg.75d04eca902dd1976d906d4956af6e21.jpeg

The cross member is Evergreen C channel.609CDAB2-66E5-432F-A167-CE9D28A61B8D.thumb.jpeg.6b4bb4e25581a2d6e68381dc0f58be3a.jpeg

You're a bold man to paint it black!,the one color I try to avoid!

I'm not necessarily a fan of the color itself, but I've done a few, and one advantage is it's very easy to touch up, as Los Bravos taught us back in 1966. B)
