Gregg Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Yeah, right, I can dream, right? I just got this great incredible unreal fantastic awesome, you get the picture, kit from my friend John Oszajca. Yeah, after 10 years, I can finally spell his name in one stroke. Sorry, it's late, back to the news. It's the Super Models 1/43 Cobra 427 kit I have been building the Super Models 1/43 Ferrari 312 T for a while, but it took a dump on the carpet at the old place, and I'm not sure if I got all the pieces picked up from the carpet, so it's been on hold for a while I have brought it to shows with me, and people just shake their heads. So, the Cobra has been a kit I have longed after from John's collection for many years, and I finally laid my hands on it. Now, it's time to start building it. I hope....
Jantrix Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Grats on the kit! I build a couple Hubley kits "back in the day", and I can't tell you how much I hate metal kits. Looking forward to seeing this one come to life.
MrObsessive Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Sigh.............Another one of my Holy Grails! I've loved this kit ever since I seen one about 5 years ago on eBay and at a show. They are the Fujimi Enthusiast series of 1/43............meaning practically every nut and bolt is included it seems. Superior Models are for us nutty "obsessive" builders for sure! When I can get some more bucks socked away------I'll be lookin' to get one of those! Congrats on a rare find Gregg!
george 53 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Gregg, what hospital can we send cards to? cause as if you ain't nutty enough, this kit looks like it'll finish the job! I've NEVER seen a 43rd scale kit with openin doors! Your gonna need the ######'ns Binocs to build this ya know. Hope to see this one done in "under glass" And let the sweetie know to tell us WHERE to send the cards!
MrObsessive Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I've NEVER seen a 43rd scale kit with openin doors! George if you wanna go crazy, check out the Bosica Porsche 356 of which I have a kit. It's 1/43 white metal and everything opens on that one. I've had it several years, but it's such a marvelous casting and kit, I find myself just looking at the way the parts are made. Brass doors, hood, and deck lid are just among the many detailed parts in this bugger! eBay has 'em listed from time to time............you'd be amazed how nice that kit is. Also a company out of France called Feeling 43 is well known for their amazing 1/43 detail kits which rival your best super detailed 1/8 scale!
george 53 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Bill, you tryin to make me as nutty as Gregg? Theresa already says I'm half way there! I have seen some BEAUTIFUL kits out of 43rd scale, but I know I wouldn't have the patience to work on somethin that small! I see some nice kits at the toy shows but I'm reluctant to get into that scale cause it is so small!Yeesh, I can barely see 25th WITHOUT my glasses, 43rd would probly finish the job, an make me go blind!
bigphoto Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Hubba Hubba the 1/43 holy grail! I hope Gregg doesn't raise the Mag prices to cover this!!!LOL Maybe Gregg would cast me a couple of those 427's for some projects I have, Pretty Please!!!!!!!!!!!
RadRidesByDan Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Im ot into that kind of small scale but that looks like one very nice kit.....From what I can see that there is very little to no plastic.
Gregg Posted August 28, 2008 Author Posted August 28, 2008 Sorry, too late..... we are raising cover price first time in what, ten years?????? Casting, isn't that a four-letter word, like work? Wish I had the time Once I start something, it's walls to the ball or something like that..... I brought out the 312 after I shot the Cobra This proves I am nucken futs

simonr Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Oh man, I just only wish to have my hands over this kit! Simón P. Rivera Torres
Brendan Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I don't think anybody has to worry about winning the GSL. I don't think you'll have it done till about 2012. I'm still waiting to see the Jaguar. As you know, I'm just kidding. Great little kit. Always wanted to build that scale, but I think if I tried, I might slip and crush it with my sausage fingers.
george 53 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Whoa,ALL that fits in a 43rd scale kit? ######, Gregg, you sure are over the edge! I wouldn't EVEN try to get that deep! Your REALLY gonna need glasses after THAT one! Good lucky Kiddo!

The model is a 1:43 Provence Moulage 1965 Simca Abarth I built about 7 years ago. It was also a "Grail" of mine!
