martin9428 Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 (edited) I would like to find a driving figure to go in my 1/8 scale Big T but not having any luck. Does anyone know where I might find one? I am also thinking of making the headlights and tail light light up but, not finding any videos except for R/C cars or Scifi stuff. Is it all basically the same? DPNM Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 I am fairly certain that "Barbie" & "Ken" are 1/6th scale. Don't know if you'd want to use them but you may check eBay or Walmart to see if there is something that you can use. I belong to another forum and guys there use these size females to be with their 1/6th motorcycles. I've never lit a vehicle so I can't help there.
Mike999 Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 (edited) Shouldn't that be 1/8 scale, for the Monogram Big T? If it is 1/6 scale, any of the Dragon "Battle Barbie" figures might work. (Collectors hate the name "Battle Barbies.") There's even a 1/6 scale figure of Ryan Gosling from the movie "Drive." But he's standing up and not driving. Just search on "Dragon 1/6 scale figure" and you should find a bunch. If the kit is 1/8 scale, you might have to get creative. Link below to an article about re-working action figures as drivers in large-scale RC vehicles. I'd guess fiber-optics would work for your lights, same as they do in sci-fi kits etc. http://rctruckstop.com/2012/09/25/go-figure-get-the-right-driver-for-your-scale-crawler/ Edited February 6, 2019 by Mike999 omit2
Richard Bartrop Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 LEDs are your bed bet for lights. They run cool and last way longer than incandescents. Alas, Radio Shack is no longer with us, but check Google to see what you can find in your area.
Bucket T Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 You can always check with a thrift store for figures. The one I go to has bags of 'em for just a few bucks.
peteski Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 I thought that Barbie figures were closer to 1:12 scale.

Mike999 Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 "Items in 1:6 scale (also known as "Playscale" or "Fashion Doll" scale) are sized to fit with common fashion dolls such as Barbie or collectible action figures, principally military action figures. In this scale, 1 inch is equivalent to 6 inches in full size." https://www.thesprucecrafts.com/dolls-house-and-miniatures-scale-2365457
jaxenro Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 Try looking for RC pilots for 1:8 scale figures you can modify. A 12” Barbie is 6’ in 1:6 but 8’ in 1:8 a bit loo large
