Hmmm....

Wonder what I can do with this old glue bomb...?

Any suggestions?

The camper is interesting. Where did that come from? A modified AMT open road camper? I think it would make a good Overland vehicle!

It came with an early version of the 65 Camino. There is also a small camper shell (topper, cap) in the box.

This kit has been reissued so many times over the years that they are easy to come across. Especially stock or lowered.

But, I don't recall seeing one done up as a 4x4. I really like the look!

Maybe strip the thick paint job and have fun with an old weathered look for it. Keep the big camper on it - it works with the "overland bounder" theme.

Add a camping diorama and you've got a scene!

Looks like fun!!

I've never done weathering (or paint stripping) so maybe this is good time to learn!

The body is sitting on a 4x4 truck chassis of unknown origin.

Paint stripped and ready for makeover. Super Clean works great!

If you happen to have the '65 Chevelle Wagon that AMT released at the same time as the El Camino, all of the goodies interchange. Both have been reissued many times and should be easy to find.

I do have a coupe of the 65 wagons, but have other plans for them. The El Camino only had buckets seats in the kit, so I robbed a 66 Chevelle wagon of it's front bench to use in the Elky.
