Hey guys, spring is coming , so my thoughts are turning to the golf season. I’ve been thinking of buying a range finder, I have a golf buddy gps unit, but would like to upgrade. Obviously, there are a ton of range finders on the market, so I thought I’d ask you guys what you’re using, and how do you like it? I thought I’d start my research as it were here first, then depending on the response I get here, look deeper into all your suggestions. Thanks guys.

You might also want to call/talk to gun/hunting shops in your area, see what's popular, what works, what's a good price. Laser rangefinders are hot in that market too, and it's possible you could find a better deal since it might be more competitive. Just a thought, worth exactly what you paid for it. B)

Well, that was my other line of thought, I know hunters use them as well, but I ‘think’ some manufacturers use the same tech, but call it different stuff for different applications, IE golf versus hunting. Just trying to get a feel of what’s what from people.

Wow, I thought for sure this would get a little more input, would’ve thought there were a lot of golfers here.

I made what contribution I could. But sorry, golf just doesn't interest me at all.

IMHO, golf would be a much better game if played from moving motorcyces, and against the clock. B)

Well, I thank you for your input. Golf never interested me, untill I went out and did it, it let’s you run the whole spectrum of emotion, lol. I’ve met some super people I might not have met otherwise, and there is nothing like wandering a course on a sunny dayB)

I don't golf either. I guess I'd rather get out in the surf break. Midway USA is my usual source for such things. I wonder if the hunting ones are tuned for game animals, and the golf ones for whatever you call the flag you put in the hole?

My hunting friends like the Nikon rangefinders.

I guess the biggest difference between the two might be the range of distance they can measure. I work with Bow hunters and they don't need the same range as a gun hunter or golfer would need so I can not ask them.
