Modlbldr Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I finished this one up this morning. The Aoshima R34. What a nice kit. http:// I primed this with Rust-Oleum Dark Gray primer and airbrushed using Wet and Wild "Buffy the Violet Slayer" nail polish. Interior is two toned black with gray inserts. I outlined the inserts with a red permanent marker. The floor is flocked with gray/black flocking. The wheels are painted in Testors Bronze. The rest is right out of the box. http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// This is my third finished build for the year. That is the same as the number I have built in a year for the last three years and it is only March! I'm on a roll. Thanks for looking. Comments and criticisms welcomed. Later-
Dann Tier Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Aoshima kits are my new favorites, and you built this one beautifully, bud!!!!
Modlbldr Posted March 6, 2019 Author Posted March 6, 2019 Thanks guys! I appreciate it. Dann, Thanks. I admire your builds. Very detailed work you do. I am starting the Aoshima 89 rx7 FC3S now. I've had the kit for years and I'm finally getting to it. Later-

Slimguy Posted March 6, 2019 Posted March 6, 2019 Really like the color choice and stance of the car. Looks sharp. I have never attempted a model from Aoshima...what makes them better than say a Tamiya, Revell, etc.?
Modlbldr Posted March 6, 2019 Author Posted March 6, 2019 Slimguy- Thanks for the input. I appreciate it. I would say that they are on par with Fujimi, but for the most part are better than Revell in fit and finish. Plus the subject matter is more of the Japanese and European fare. Most of the Aoshima kits I've seen are curbside (no engine or lower engine detail molded in) but I have not dealt with many of the kits. Later-
Sandboarder Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 Very clean build. Really like the colour, the purples killer and bronze wheels go together well
