I recently acquired one of the AMT Styline kits of the Ford Galaxie and was looking for a more detailed chassis for it - something with separate driveline and suspension hopefully.  Any suggestions on kits or aftermarket that might have something appropriate?

Yes, it will fit with slight modifications, use the whole chassis including complete drive train and floorboard.

As simple as that, and it's currently available!

Yep, I used that chassis under an AMT ‘64 Mercury, a near perfect fit.

Excellent!  Thanks for the help - I never think of cars from an older model year for having more complete detail.  My mind always goes to newer is better.  Thanks again.

Well you have to consider when the model kit itself was made.
The 1963 is a newer model year but the kit was made way back in the 60's together with the Promos and was available as a Convertible, "Box Top" Hard Top and "Fast Back" Hard Top wich is the kit we have today, it still has the Convertible interior tub as the rear side panels are wrong for the hard tops.
The 1960 Starliner kit in the picture above is developed in the late 90's and one of the last kits AMT did before RC2 (Racing Champions) and later Round 2 (current owner) took over, and it's one of the best out there in my opinion with very nice detail and this kit has lots of good parts for early FE engines.
My wish is that Round 2 would tool up new 1961, 1963 and 1964 Galaxie bodys and interiors based on the 1960 Starliner tooling because the age of the earlier kits is showing and they are not that accurate and has never been, the '64 Galaxie kit we have today is in fact an unassembled promo.
