Rob Hall Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 I'm a little over a year from turning 50...overall, I'm happy. I like my house (though the garage could be larger), I like my career (especially working from home full time the last couple of years), like my Jeep, like my dogs. After 20 years in the West, I'm enjoying living in NE Ohio again, even with the winters (which aren't the worst). I could lose a little weight and get more exercise, but I enjoy eating.. As far as midlife crisis, I do have the urge to get a sports car..something small, fun with a manual. May get something fun in the next couple of years. I really should try building more models rather just buying more models...heh heh...

They had blank looks on their faces because it took so long to take the picture. No one could hold a smile that long.
StevenGuthmiller Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 I figure, what's there to "deal with?" As long as I'm healthy, I have everything. My age is irrelevant. Steve

stavanzer Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 I just turned 56 last month on May 26th. I'm Older, Fatter, Balder and Greyer than I've ever been. I'm trying to lose weight, and I've just been diagnosed with "The Beatis" (Diabetes). But, this year will be my 25th anniversary in the only marriage I've ever had. I've been in my own (not rented) house for nine years, and My Kids all have jobs and decent lives. I have 4 grandchildren and all of them are healthy. I have a job, and a new car payment, and enough cash to buy a model every month, if I want to. I've been truly Blessed in every way. Yes, my knees and hips are painful, and getting worse. I have severe OA (Osteoarthritis) in both shoulders, and have constant low-level pain. I have Eye Issues and I'm slowly going Deaf. Yet, despite these very real troubles, I'm in the best place in my life, I've ever been! I know who and what I am. I am content with what I have and what I've done (and not done). The burning questions that haunted my youth have been answered. I didn't always like the answers, but I'm okay with that too. Is my life the best it could be? No, it isn't But, it is the best life I have right now, and I'm no longer restless and unfulfilled. I like myself and love my family. I have more toys than I can use, and more Blessings than I can count. It is a comfort not to be always trying to "Find Out, Who I Am" and just be myself, as I am now.
afx Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 (edited) I'm 56 and shot my career best round of golf last weekend, a strictly by the rules 81. My goal is to shoot in the 70s one of these days. I try hard to look forward and be working towards something and not look back. Edited June 3, 2019 by afx
